While walking through our adoption many people could not understand just why it took so long. On average an adoption in Oregon takes 1-2 years.

In this class we will be focusing on what the adoption process really looks like. This is a great resource if your thinking to adopt or wanting to understand the process just a little bit more.

This will be a Zoom class & Facebook Live Event information will be posted on day of event for logon

We will discuss ways to support recovery, have boundaries and turning a relationship that can be awkward and weird into something that brings change, healing and hope for both parties involved.

This event is open to all foster, adoptive families along as community members wanting to learn more about foster care, adoption and what it looks like in our community.

Protectin Yoyrself Against An Assesment

April 20, 2020

  • Protecting Yourself Against An Assesment

    April 20, 2020-6:30pm

Dealing with a state assesment is hard.

I remember when we were in our foundations class and how the joked about it's not if you get an assesment it's when. As a new foster parent I did not realize the process, laws and just how life changing an assesment could be to me and my family....but the reality is an assesment can follow you for years.

Join me Bonnie and my guest speaker Natalie as we share with you what it looked like when we walked through our assesments and how you as a foster parent can protect yourself before an assesment and your rights during an assesment

This will be a Zoom class & Facebook Live Event information will be posted on day of event for logon

Foster Parenting 101

April 28, 2020

  • Foster Parenting 101

    April 28, 2020-1:00pm

When you start thinking about becoming a foster parent the first step most of us have to take is the foundations class that the state uses to certify you.

The reality is this class did not prepare me for what was to come. How to fill out forums, compensations, medication logs, dealing with behaviors, SSA transportation rights, bio relationships.

There is so much and it can be overwhelming. In this class we will be discussing what it really means when you say yes to kids and how to survive. We will have different topics and Q & A time
