    February-Community Resources

I get it becoming a foster parent is a lot to take in. I also understand as a community member there are so many non-profits you would love to serve or learn more about.

This month our goal is focusing on Community Resource Networking & Education. We will be having a panel of several different community programs that help foster parents, bio families and the community get involved, educated and help serve the kids in Southern Oregon.

  • Grants Pass Womens Fight Night

Grants Pass Women’s Fight Night is coming up. Come by yourself or grab a friend and meet us at Wild River Pub House in their banquet room.

Women’s Fight Night is a night of worship and breakthrough with others who want to go deeper in their faith by living fearlessly for God.

Come as you are! Leave your burden at the door and don’t pick it back up on your way out. Just leave it. YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THAT! And while you’re at it, leave your insecurities, your judgement, your weaknesses, and your doubts too!!! Instead, come in with an open mind and an open heart and get ready to connect with others.

Where: Wild River Pub House in their banquet room located at 533 NE F St. Come early to grab a bite to eat and drink too!

When: Monday, March 9, 2020 7pm. GP Women's Fight Night is always the second Monday of every month. Doors are open at 6pm so you can enjoy food and fellowship beforehand.

Why: Because we’re passionate about being real and we think you might be too. Fight Nights are a time and place to encounter Jesus, while experiencing a powerful story and authentic community.

***No child care available. Nursing moms can bring infants. Teens must be 16 or older unless accompanied by a parent then the age limit is 15 and at your own risk. Speakers share their stories and are encouraged to be real and raw.***

    April-No Sugar Coating Foster Care

Join us for an evening to hear form guest speaker Jillian Goble. Jillana has been a foster mom, biological mom, and adoptive mom—in that order—since 2003. She is a connector and a collaborator who has walked an unlikely path in creating an unprecedented relationship with the children who have walked through her front door, their biological families, and with the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare. She founded Embrace Oregon, which is the catalyst for Every Child Oregon, a robust engagement model bridging the community and foster care.

Jillana holds a Masters Degree in Teaching. She is a sought after speaker on various topics around foster care, government/community partnership, adoption, special needs, grief, and hope. She continues to mentor and walk alongside countless foster parents navigating this journey.

Jillana is the author of No Sugar-Coating. No Sugar-Coating is a warm, straight-up guide that reads like a conversation with a knowledgeable friend. It is filled with practical suggestions interwoven with compelling narrative rooted in foster parenting experience. No Sugar-Coating offers valuable insight for those eager to learn more about foster parenting as well as an anchoring for those who have already welcomed vulnerable children through their front door.

This event is open to all foster, adoptive families along as community members wanting to learn more about foster care, adoption and what it looks like in our community.

No children allowed as this. It’s a night that may discuss some trauma situations and adult matter.

    Refreshments and Appetizers provided
